News from the State Controller's Office

The SCO has named Dave Dawson, SCO Division Chief Information Systems and CIO, to the 21st Century Project as Project Director. He is responsible for oversight of the day to day project activities.

The SCO will begin conducting stakeholder meetings with the Civil Service Agencies in May/June to provide status and answer questions. The CSU Project Team will participate in information gathering pertinent to the CSU project.

The SCO/BearingPoint project team continues to review and refine the Blueprinting efforts for Civil Service. The implementation dates for the CSU remain Q1 2010 Pilot(s) and Q2 2010 for all remaining campuses.

The SCO hosted a meeting of SCO/BearingPoint and CSU project leadership, managers, and team leads on April 17th to review and discuss joint project efforts. The focus was review of the project management approach for activities/tasks that require collaboration to execute.

A Project Integration Management (PIM) Team has been established to plan and manage the joint activities. PIM Team members are Dennis Duarte, SCO Functional Workstream Manager, Russ Nichols, SCO Chief Technology Operations, Mike Scheidt, BearingPoint Integration Manager, Shane Mirise, BearingPoint Technical Integration Manager, Elizabeth O’Shea, CSU Project Integration Manager, and Brendon DeLong, Project PMO Coordinator. This team is developing a consolidated project plan which considers key CSU and Civil Service milestones.
