Key Project Activities |
| |
| |
The following activities have been completed or are currently underway:
- Business Process Team Update:
- The Business Process Team continues to focus on the review and update of CSU payroll related processes. The CSU process documentation template was updated to incorporate some additional items based on review of the SCO Project Team process template. Review sessions with team members are underway with plans to publish the current process documentation once this review is complete. The team is also moving forward to solicit campus input on business processes for non-payroll areas.
- Application Integration Team Update:
- The Application Integration Team participated in discussions with the SCO project team and Information Builders (IBI), the company which licenses the iWay tool, related to integrating data between the CSU CMS baseline and the SCO SAP applications. They are awaiting further details from IBI and considering a proof of concept exercise to verify the capabilities and understand the use of this tool.
- The team has also begun development and review of the current CSU transaction list in preparation for joint data mapping efforts with the SCO.
- Data & Reporting/Data Warehouse Team Update:
- The Data & Reporting/Data Warehouse Team is completing documentation of requirements gathered during the interviews conducted at the four campuses and the Chancellor’s Office. Webcasts to review and confirm the requirements will occur in December and are intended for those individuals who participated in the initial interview sessions. Once confirmed, this information will be shared with the larger constituent group.
- Change Management and Communication Team Update:
- The CSU/SCO 21st Century Project Management Team began a series of campus visits scheduled for all 23 campuses and the CO. The campus visits provide the opportunity for campuses to meet the CSU Project Management Team, receive information about the project, and ask questions. A key focal point of the campus visit is a walk through of the CSU/SCO 21st Century Project Design Overview document. Questions asked during the visits are being documented and will be posted to the FAQ section on the project website. Campus feedback thus far indicates that the visits have been very well received. The schedule concludes in March of 2008.
- Beginning January 2008, monthly teleconference calls will be held with the campus coordinators. The purpose of these calls is to facilitate the flow of project related information to and within the campuses.
- A draft copy of the Communication Plan is being provided to campus coordinators during the campus visits. Campus coordinators are asked to provide input to ensure the communications needs of the campus are addressed.
